Our annual Greek Spring Fling features authentic foods, such as Gyros, Greek Fries, Loukaniko and more!  Our church is always open, and we welcome you to come inside, light a candle and say a prayer.  Proceeds from the Greek Spring Fling go towards the beautification of our church.

Menu

  • GYRO – (Pronounced Yee-Row) The Famous Greek sandwich!  Lamb and beef blend on grilled pita bread with lettuce, tomato, onion, and tsatziki (zaht-zee-kee) sauce.  The sauce makes the sandwich!
  • GREEK FRIES – Crispy, golden fries tossed with Greek oregano and garlic salt for a deliciously seasoned side.  Try it with our homemade tsatziki (zaht-zee-kee) sauce!

     

  • LOADED GREEK FRIES – Crispy Greek fries topped with crumbled feta cheese, a side of our delicious homemade tsatziki (zaht-zee-kee) sauce, and finished with a sprinkle of fresh herbs.  A flavorful twist on a classic side dish!

     

  • LOUKANIKO – Traditional Greek sausage made with flavorful pork, herbs and spices, infused with orange zest for a unique twist.  Grilled to perfection and served on top of pita bread.

     

  • PASTITSIO – Baked layers of tender pasta and aromatic savory beef ragù, topped with a thick layer of creamy béchamel sauce!

     

  • SPANAKOPITA – Layers upon layers of paper-thin flaky phyllo pastry filled with a vibrant mix of spinach, feta cheese, and herbs baked to a golden crisp perfection (even kids love it).

     

  • LOUKOUMADES – Delicious Greek donuts, deep-fried until golden and light.  Drizzled with warm honey syrup and sprinkled with cinnamon.  

     

  • BAKLAVA – A rich, sweet dessert made of layers of flaky phyllo pastry, filled with chopped nuts and sweetened with honey syrup.  It’s a delicious indulgence that showcases traditional Greek flavors.

  • When and where is the Greek Spring Fling? April 26th at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in Downtown Macon (859 First Street) What are the hours?Saturday 11am-7pm
  • Does it cost to get in the festival? There is no admission fee!
  • Where do we park? Parking is available in our parking lot to the left of the church and parish house. Parking is also available along the streets as well as across the street.
  • Do y’all serve vegetarian options? Yes, this year, we will have spanakopita!
  • Is the festival kid friendly? Yes! Kids love to eat Greek!
  • Do y’all have live music? During the Greek Spring Fling, we do not have live music; however, there will be music playing.
  • What about Greek Dancing? You might catch a parishioner or two dancing around the parking lot; however, we will not have dancers during the Greek Spring Fling.
